Specialized Diagnosis and Treatment at Baystate Children's Hospital
Lung problems that make it hard to breathe can take some of the fun out of being a kid. The experts at Baystate Pediatric Pulmonology can help. We’ll make sure you have the education and resources you need to care for your child at home, at school, and on the go.
Our board-certified pediatric lung specialists, nurses, respiratory therapists, nutritionists, social workers, and child life specialists work together to diagnose and treat lung problems in children, including:
- Bronchopulmonary dysplasia
- Childhood asthma
- Childhood interstitial lung disease
- Cystic fibrosis
- Pneumonia
Expert Care for Your Child's Lung Disease
To assess and diagnose your child’s condition, we use pulmonary function testing (PFT) along with other diagnostic tests. Then we work closely with you, your child, and your child’s pediatrician to create the right treatment plan.
If your child has cystic fibrosis (CF), you can rely on Baystate Pediatric Pulmonology — a Cystic Fibrosis Care Center. This means the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has assessed our program and determined it offers the best care, treatment, and support for children with CF.
We are also experienced in working with children who need ventilation or a tracheostomy.
