Baystate Health Foundation recognized John and Sandy Maybury with its Impact Award at the President’s Evening of Gratitude, held on September 14, 2022.

The Impact Award honors individuals who have made an impact on the philanthropic efforts to support Baystate Health. Both John and Sandy have been longtime supporters to Baystate Health Foundation.

Each year, John, Sandy, and the team from Maybury Material Handling volunteers on the phone bank during the 94.7 WMAS Radiothon for Baystate Children’s Hospital. In 2021 and 2022, the event was virtual because of COVID-19. John took it upon himself to have a phone bank set up in their offices and the group was the top fundraiser for the event during both years.

The Mayburys also host an annual car show to support the Rays of Hope Walk & Run Toward the Cure of Breast Cancer.

“When I think of John and Sandy Maybury, I think of one word – they’re cheerleaders. They’re among the biggest cheerleaders the Foundation has,” said Scott Berg, vice president of philanthropy, Baystate Health, and executive director, Baystate Health Foundation. “They have gone above and beyond to consistently support our efforts to provide high-quality care to our community.”

For 12 years, John served on the Baystate Health Foundation Board of Trustees, of which he was chair from 2012 to 2014. He currently serves on the Baystate Health Board, which he also held the position of chair from 2019 to 2021.
