Community Comes Together to Support Baystate Noble Ball

 Back to News

For 56 years, the Greater Westfield community has come together to support its hospital through the Baystate Noble Ball. This year, we will be able to gather in-person for the Ball on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at the MassMutual Center. Though the past few years have not ushered in the traditional event, that did not stop the community from coming together for its local hospital.

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020 and we were unable to gather, the community continued to support its hospital and healthcare team. With little fanfare, sponsors stepped up and committed resources to purchase critical response devices, known as LUCAS® devices, which mechanically assist in resuscitating patients, allowing for more consistent chest compressions with fewer interruptions than manual CPR. This proved to be a crucial tool in the midst of the pandemic, when Westfield saw high numbers of COVID cases.

In 2021, the Baystate Noble Ball was rescheduled due to a rise in COVID-19 cases. Once again, our sponsors and donors stepped up. Proceeds from last year helped purchase a portable x-ray machine, which brings high-quality imaging to patients’ bedsides, creating fewer delays in care as the attending physician can read the image immediately and advise on the course of care quickly.

Our Westfield hospital is playing an important role in the health of our community, and we couldn’t do it without you.
