A Rhode Island native, Stacey majored in biology at Providence College. While there, she was a chemistry teaching assistant. She participated in research in investigatory polymers for medical devices and presented her work at a conference in Niagara, Canada. She also was president of the Middle Eastern Students’ association, was a cheerleader, dancer, an educational presenter on eating disorders, and a volunteer at a camp for children with cancer. She has taught fitness at several venues and is a kickboxing expert. At Brown, she continued her interest in eating disorders and substance abuse, both in research at Mass General and Brown, as well as in educational awareness activities. She pursued this interest by entering psychiatry residency after graduation from Brown. Happily, she has seen the light and decided to become a pediatrician, likely going on to a fellowship in adolescent medicine. She is the proud owner of a rescue dog for over 10 years. She continues to enjoy dancing, outdoor activities and New England sports teams. |
