Baystate Medical Center is a major teaching, clinical, and research facility and is the Western Campus of Tufts University School of Medicine (TUSM). The Baystate Pathology training program provides integrated training in anatomic and clinical pathology. Our department is one of the largest in New England, and our large breadth of interesting case material offers excellent educational opportunities. Baystate Pathology/Baystate Medical Center is a “Molecular Center of Excellence”, the only one in the Northeast, to promote molecular diagnostic pathology. Our motivated subspecialty-trained faculty along with a cooperative and friendly atmosphere create a wonderful environment to acquire the skills and knowledge needed to become a successful pathologist.

Curriculum Information
Each year the residents get a balance of Anatomic and Clinical Pathology rotations which include the following:
- Anatomic Pathology (26 months): Surgical Pathology (9 mos), Dermatopathology (1 mo), Autopsy (5 mos), Frozen Section (1 mo), Advanced Cytopathology (1 mo), Advanced Surgical Pathology (3 mos), Cytopathology (3 mos), Forensic Pathology (1 mo), Neuropathology/Renal Pathology (2 mos)
- Clinical Pathology (19 months): Transfusion Medicine Service (3 mos), Chemistry (3 mos), Cytogenetics & Molecular (3 mos), Immunopathology/Serology (1 mo), Hematology/Hematopathology (5 mos), Microbiology (3 mos), Advanced Clinical Pathology (1 mo)
