Established in 1993, our residency program prides itself on teaching the fundamentals of EM as well as promoting wellness and the balance between work and play.

Our graduates gain an understanding of both community and academic emergency medicine while obtaining the skills necessary to succeed in a challenging career.

Diverse Pathology and Advanced Procedures

Because Baystate is the region's tertiary referral center,
as an EM Resident at Baystate, you have opportunities to acquire broad clinical experience:

  • care for a diverse patient population

  • learn Ultrasound

  • employ Simulation Lab technology

  • teach medical students and participate in research

  • be a PALS, ACLS, ATLS, and ADLS Instructor

  • participate in International Medicine experiences
