Critical Care Anesthesiology Fellowship

A Clinically-Oriented Program in Multidisciplinary Critical Care

The Critical Care-Anesthesiology (CCM/Anes) fellowship at Baystate Health has been continuously operative since 1997.  This fellowship is available to physicians who have successfully completed a 4-year ACGME accredited program in Anesthesiology.

We Provide Comprehensive Training in Multidisciplinary Critical Care Medicine and Cardiac Anesthesiology.

Fellows are trained by faculty from multiple departments in:

  • Clinical Critical Care Medicine of Medical and Surgical patients

  • Advanced invasive and non-invasive monitoring

  • Intraoperative care of cardiac surgical patients (includes TEE-training)

  • Ethical questions surrounding the care of highly vulnerable patient group

  • Formulation of research questions; exposure to a highly successful CCM research group
