Baystate Medical Center has been named among the Thomson Reuters 100 Top Hospitals: Performance Improvement Leaders, based on a study of the five-year performance of more than 2,800 hospitals on a variety of clinical, financial, operational and patient safety criteria. BMC was listed in the major teaching hospitals category.
The study rated hospitals on eight factors: patient mortality, medical complications, patient safety, length of stay, expenses, profitability, cash-to-debt ratio, and use of evidence-based medicine. This hospital assessment project, which dates back to 1993, was formerly called the Solucient 100 Top Hospitals program. Learn more..

Baystate Health earned the 2007 Hospitals for a Healthy Environment (H2E) Sustained Environmental Leadership Award, the highest award given to health care facilities for outstanding environmental performance. Baystate was the only Massachusetts health system in Massachusetts honored out of 19 nationwide. H2E is affiliated with the American Hospital Association. |
